Lane's Quilt

My mom made Lane a quilt for Christmas. She had some finishing touches to add so we just actually got possession of the quilt last week. Here she is playing on her new quilt from Grandma.

AND here is her newest facial expression...the pitiful pouty lip...awww.

More play time on the quilt

I know, I know there are already so many pictures of her on her jungle mat...but she just loves this thing and she spends a lot of time kicking and talking to the animals.

Lane is learning to use her lips to make noises.

Sometimes they work just like she wants them to,

other times not so much. But it's cute either way.

LANE is 3 MONTHS OLD!

She is getting so BIG. There are times that I want to freeze time and keep her just the way she is right now, but I am also very excited about watching her continue to develop and learn new things. So here is what she is doing right now at 3 months...

She is learning to read! Well, okay so maybe she can't read the words yet...but it won't be long. The really big thing is that she is holding the book on her own. She has discovered that her hands and fingers can do things.

Here she is turning the page!

And she loves to play, especially on her jungle mat. She will lay on her mat for 30 min. or more watching the lights, hitting and kicking the toys, and smiling.

Other things she is doing right now:

- She eats a lot! but still manages to keep her trim figure. ;-)

- She is sleeping through the night (but truth be told she has done that since she was a month old...we really are blessed)

- She is starting to pay attention to the dogs. And I have even caught her smiling at them when they walk up to her.

- And she is a talker...takes after her father in that way...she even talked to MeMaw and Great Grannie on mommy's cell phone the other day.

- She is very expressive...again this is something that she has done for a while but there seems to be more meaning behind her "faces" recently (maybe she takes after me in that way).

- She has the most beautiful dark blue eyes and recently her hair has been falling out...to make way for...who knows what color she will have when it grows back in...we'll just have to wait and see.

- She is wearing 3-6 months clothes...3 month clothes are too short for her already.

Aweful, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad DAY!

We've all had them. Let me tell you about my day yesterday. I came down stairs to a huge and I do mean HUGE pile of dog throw up. You know the kind where there is still chunks of undigested food in it. Well, I spent my one free hour before work cleaning this up. I let Dante back into the house and before I could walk up stairs he threw up two more HUGE piles of vomit. I just wanted to sit on my vomit soaked, cream rug and cry. But I soldiered on and cleaned what I could and went to work. I put Dante in his kennel just in case. When I came home at lunch...I came home to puke all over the bottom of Dante's kennel. So I cleaned that up and put him back in the kennel. I finally came home at 6pm after a full day of clients and rented a RugDoctor to clean the pukey rug. Ashley greeted me with..."He threw up again in his kennel. But don't worry I cleaned it up for you." (Thank you Ashley). So Brandon and I spent our evening shampooing our rug. This morning I decided that Dante must have eaten something that he shouldn't have, since about two weeks ago he threw up one of Lane's socks (which came up green and was originally white...yuck!). Just as I mention this to Ashley...I look outside and (WARNING: gross, graphic content) I see Dante pooping and something plastic in nature hanging from his rear. He was struggling to get it all out. So being the good dog owner I am, I ran to get a rubber glove to help him out. Thankfully, by the time I had the glove on and was about halfway to him...he managed to push the rest of it out. I kid you not...it was a plastic toy dinosaur...one of the medium size ones! He must have gotten it from the neighbors yard. They have a mini schnauzer who pokes his head under the fence. Dante frequently urinates on his head, so maybe this was the dog's revenge. Anyway, I couldn't help but laugh as I found myself saying the following phrase to Dante, "I 'm glad you pooped out that dinosaur." Who would have thought that events would conspire for me to be able to utter such a phrase. (sigh) I love my dogs. And it is a good thing that I do, because yesterday tested my limits. But on the bright side, my rug is thoroughly clean now.

50th Birthday Party

Sherry, Lane's MeMaw turned 50 on the the 28th. We arranged to celebrate with the family at a local restaurant. Here are some pics from the evening.

Other events from this weekend...

MeMaw giving Lane a much needed bath.

Shoes...shoes...and more shoes. MeMaw bought Lane five pairs of shoes...she is better dressed than I am. :-)

Lane at the birthday party for MeMaw. Her bottle leaked all over her and daddy had to run home and get a change of clothes. She didn't get very much to eat, but was such a good little girl while we were out.

Here is her new outfit that MeMaw bought her. It is too cute!
